Fire continuing to ravage one of the country's most scenic spots. A drive through the
mountains and you can understand why many celebrities like Tom Hanks, Arnold
Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis choose this area to build multi-million-dollar vacation
homes. And why some insurance companies call in their own firefighters to help prevent a
calamity.
산불이 이 나라 최고의 명승지 한 곳을 유린하고 있습니다. 산속 길 드라이브 한 번이면 톰 행크스, 아놀드 슈왈츠제네거, 브루스 윌리스 등 수많은 유명인들이 수백만 달러의 별장을 짓는 장소로 이 곳을 선택하는지 그 이유를 알 수 있을 것 같습니다. 또한 왜 일부 보험사들까지 나서 참사를 막기 위해 자체 소방관들 불러들이는지 이유도요.
But as a Red Cross official told me,
"Many people think this is an affluent area, and it is, but there are many people who are
affected by this that are from different socioeconomic backgrounds. And that's who’s staying
with us."
그렇지만 한 적십자 직원이 제게 한 말은 이렇습니다.

Staying in a shelter like this high school, where we met Orlanda Cabrito.
"I think just not knowing. I think the outcome if we're going to be able to go home, or if we're going to have a home. I think that's the most nerve-racking."

The Beaver Creek Fire is a true beast, spreading across an area larger than the city of Denver.
Surrounded by bone dry trees and brush, it's clear this fire could keep burning for a very long time. The key is to keep the flames away from homes. But the wind has a way of pushing the fire in different directions.
